Plans for the World Confectionery Conference are continuing to gather pace, with senior market analyst Myrthe de Beukelaar of Innova Market Insights named as the latest keynote speaker for the event.

Our key industry showcase, taking place on 9 September 2022 at the Marriott Hotel, Grand Place, Brussels, follows in the wake of our debut event held online this summer, which attracted a diverse international audience.

Our physical event is set to continue from that initial base, offering strong insights into the complete value chain of our industry, from addressing core sustainability issues, through to exploring wider themes of recovery from the pandemic, which we believe will offer a valuable spotlight on confectionery, snacks and bakery markets as they continue to respond to ongoing challenges.

Last month, we announced our first keynote speaker, Francesco Tramontin, of Ferrero, who has a special interest in sustainability within the confectionery sector, which remains a core issue for the industry.

The live event also features our debut World Confectionery Awards, which are now open for entries, celebrating excellence across new finished products, machinery development and group achievements.

Myrthe de Beukelaar’s strong contribution to our initial event focused on some of the core trends evolving within our industries, including the drive for a greater array of healthier and better-for-you product options, as consumers placed a high priority on wellbeing.
