Aldo Cristiano returns to the World Confectionery Conference representing Caobisco

Aldo Cristiano, vice president of Caobisco, is set to join our World Confectionery Conference as a keynote speaker for our event, reports Neill Barston.

As head of institutional affairs and sustainability at Ferrero’s German operations, he has previously spoken at our 2022 event, and will be returning to play a notable role in our major industry gathering on 11 September in Brussels at the Marriott Hotel, Grand Place.

He will be joining the conference in light of Caobisco president Can Buharali’s decision to step down from his post, and wider longstanding role with Mondelez International.

Plans for our World Confectionery Conference continue apace, with our final two speaking positions now full in place, in the form of two significant industry players – US-headquartered Eastman chemical and materials business, and Canadian global ingredients group, Bartek.

Both businesses have recently expanded their international operations, and form valuable additions to our line-up celebrating sustainability and innovation across our combined sweets and snacks industries.

This year’s other keynotes include contributions from Ferrero, Luker Chocolate, Mintel research group, joined by a broad additional programme of speakers that includes the Cama equipment group, Alland & Robert and the roundtable on sustainable palm oil to name a few.

Registration for the event is fully open, and can be done via our dedicated website, at confectioneryconference.com

This year’s event also includes the return of our World Confectionery Awards, so we are actively encouraging applications across our six core categories for the event. These include: Finished Product of the year, Ingredients of the year, equipment of the year, Sustainability initiative, team of the year, and emerging enterprise categories (post your nominations via the website above).

Editor Neill Barston commented: “With a couple of months to go before the show, it’s great to see that the line-up for the event is now complete, with the return of Aldo Cristiano, of Ferrero and Caobisco, who has decades-worth of experience within the sector.

“The addition of Bartek and Eastman to our programme adds further diversity to the programme that we have continued to establish as a deliberately broad church to represent the entire value chain of our combined industries. We look forward to receiving your further registrations for the event this September – so don’t miss out on being part of the fifth version of our event.”
